A request for access to information of public importance in the sense of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", No. 120/04, 54/07, 104/09, 36/10 and 105/21) may be submitted to the RGA at its Headquarters and to its remote internal units. Contact details relating to the postal address, e-mail address, place and time at which the request may be submitted are available on the RGA's website in the section Cadastral Offices in Serbia.
The right to free access to information of public importance held by the RGA may be exercised by submitting a written request by post, e-mail or orally with minutes taken.
The request must contain the following information:
• name of the governmental authority
• name, surname and address of the applicant
• a description of the information requested, as precise as possible
• method of the information provision
The request may, but does not have to, contain other data that facilitate finding the requested information.
The right to access information of public importance may be exercised by inspecting the document containing the requested information, issuing a copy of the document, informing whether the governmental authority possesses the information and whether it is otherwise available.
The RGA shall charge the costs of copying and sending a copy of the document containing the requested information in accordance with the Regulation on the Amount of Compensation for Costs Necessary for Issuing a Copy of a Document Containing Information of Public Importance ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", No. 8/06).
The RGA is obliged to act on a request for access to information of public importance without delay, and no later than within 15 days, and for certain information within 48 hours, or 40 days.
The RGA is obliged to inform the applicant for the information about the possession of the information, provide them with a document containing the requested information, or issue or send them a copy of that document, or to issue a decision rejecting the request for the reasons stipulated by the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance.
The appeal is decided by the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection. An administrative dispute may be initiated against the Commissioner's decision and conclusion.
The applicant has the right to appeal against the decision of the RGA, as well as in the event that the RGA fails to meet the request or issues a decision rejecting the request. The applicant has the right to appeal against a decision rejecting the applicant's request as irregular.
